Batting

Shan Masood & James Vince provided a solid opening partnership with both maintaining a T20 strike rate of 131.21 & 139.47 respectively providing stability and aggression at the top.

Youngster Irfan Khan has the potential but lacks experience at the highest level and he may be a surprise package in Karachi Kings Squad this year.

Muhammad Akhlaq & Tim Seifert are the two wicket keepers Akhlaq is more of a traditional wicketkeeper with a batting average of 22.14 in the shortest format. Whereas New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert has a T20 strike rate of 142.66 and can play anywhere in the batting order.

Bowling

Veteran left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir will lead the bowling attack with a T20 economy of 7.73 and wicket-taking ability. Two overseas players in the KK Squad Jamie Overton from England and Daniel Sams from Australia will be the other fast bowlers in the KK squad.: English all-rounder known for his pace and swing bowling, with a T20 economy of 8.74.

Hassan Ali is another seasoned fast bowler in the KK team and will be playing his first season for Karachi in PSL this year. Whereas Anwar Ali and Mir Hamza are the other fast bowlers picked by Karachi Kings their performance in T20 cricket is still not up to the mark.

South Africa’s Tabraiz Shamsi will lead the spin attack with local boy Zahid Mahmood. Shamsi had 278 T20 wickets under his belt while Zahid had less than 100 wickets but both maintained an economy of 7.3 in T20 cricket.

All-Rounders

All-rounders KK Squad for PSL 9 gives them the edge over others and their lack of experience in the batting department will be compensated by all-rounders.

Imad Wasim is an experienced left-arm spinner with a T20 economy of 6.90, known for his economical bowling and handy batting contributions. West Indian Kieron Pollard is primarily used for his big-hitting prowess but can also chip in with handy overs.

Mohammad Nawaz’s left-arm spin is underutilized by management but he also has a batting strike rate of 152.54. Shoaib Malik is another veteran all-rounder with a T20 strike rate of 130.88 and bowls sparingly but can be a partnership breaker.

Former England test fast bowler Micheal Smith names as assistant coach of Karachi Kings for 2025 PSL. He played solitary test for England in 1997 Ashes series and has been regular for Gloucestershire for many years in England county circuit.

Former Pakistani 1st class cricketer Waqas Ahmed replaced former England bowler Dougie Brown as bowling coach who was brought in as bowling coach of KK in 2025 PSL.
