South African Players in Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai Indians bought Gerald Coetzee for 5 crores in the auction after his remarkable World Cup Campaign. Coetzee picked 20 wickets in 8 matches of the World Cup 2025 in India. Coetzee’s pace and accuracy makes him very lethal. Mumbai also retained the Baby-AB, Dewald Brevis. Although Brevis didn’t get a single game in the IPL 2025, yet Mumbai have retained him. Brevis has two centuries in his last 2 First-Class appearances in South Africa.

South African Players in Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have 3 Proteas stars in their unit. Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen. With 448 runs, Klaasen was their highest run getter last year and hence retained. Klaasen was also quite monstrous with the bat in the World Cup 2025.

Markram had a decent season with the bat last year in the IPL scoring 248 runs. Although his average was low, but he still did reasonably well. He captained SRH last year too. Markram scored 406 runs averaging 45 in the World Cup. His strike rate of 110 in the World Cup proves that how explosive he is as a batter.

Marco Jansen was also retained by SRH after he took 10 wickets in 8 games. Although he was expensive with the ball, but his tall height is useful in certain conditions and he can bat too.

South African Players in Delhi Capitals

The Delhi Capitals have got 3 South African stars in their squad. Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje and Tristan Stubbs will be a part of the Capitals for IPL 2024. Anrich Nortje was retained by the capitals after he picked 10 wickets in 10 games in IPL 2025. Nortje has been a little injury prone, and that is what kept him out of the World Cup 2025 as well. The Capitals would wish that he recovers soon. He last appeared in professional cricket in September 2025.

Ngidi was also retained by the Capitals for another season. Although he didn’t get a game in IPL 2025, DC still want him to be in the squad. Ngidi took 10 wickets in 8 games of the World Cup 2025.

Tristan Stubbs was bought by the DC for 50 Lacs during the IPL 2024 auction. Stubbs was with MI during IPL 2025 where he could only get 2 games and score 25 runs. Stubbs is in good batting form lately with some big scores in First Class Cricket.

South African Players in Royal Challengers Bangalore

The captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Faf du Plessis was the 2nd highest run getter of IPL 2025. He will continue to lead RCB this year as well. Faf scored a massive tally of 730 runs in 14 innings at an average of 56.15 and strike rate of 153 with 8 half centuries in the IPL 2025. The veteran South African batter showed good form in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Under his leadership, RCB Finished 6th in the IPL 2025.

South African Players in Lucknow Super Giants

The star of the 2025 World Cup Quinton De Kock will continue to be a part of Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. De Kock played only 4 games of IPL 2025 scoring 143 runs in those. With 4 centuries, De Kock scored 594 runs in the World Cup in India. As he is retired now, he will be completely available for the IPL.

South African Players in Gujarat Titans

The Titans of the Gujarat also have a South African star in their unit. David Miller, who scored 259 runs in 13 innings at an average of 32 and strike rate of 145 in the IPL 2025 was retained by the Gujarat Titans. During the World Cup 2025, David Miller scored 356 runs averaging 44 with 100+ strike rate. Miller’s destructive batting and electric fielding makes him must in any T20 side.

South African Players in Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings will also have two players from South Africa in their unit. Experienced pacer Kagiso Rabada and Rilee Rossouw are a part of Punjab Kings. Having scored 209 runs in IPL 2025, Rilee Rossouw moved to a new team in IPL 2024. He was bought by Punjab Kings for 8 crores this year. With close to 8000 runs, Rossouw is one of the most prolific T20 batter right now in World Cricket. He played few lovely knocks in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Kagiso Rabada was retained by the Punjab Kings. He could only play 6 matches of IPL 2025 and he took 7 wickets. He was brilliant in the World Cup with 13 wickets in 7 matches.

South African Players in Rajasthan Royals

The new-comers of South African cricket, Donovan Ferreira and Nandre Burger are in the Rajasthan Royals squad. Ferreira was retained by the Royals while Nandre Burger got a 50 lac contract in the auction. Donovan was on the bench during IPL 2025 and did not get a chance to feature in any of the matches. The youngster can bat, keep the wickets and bowl too. Nandre Burger on the other hand has been making highlights for his good pace and accuracy. He took 7 wickets on his Test Debut recently against India. He has played for Jaffna Kings in the LPL 2024 and Joburg Super Kings in the SA20.
