Just In: Pakistan frontline spinner Shadab Khan, alongside forty-two other Pakistani Cricketers, has been registered in the Platinum Category of Big Bash League 12 Draft. However, their participation could be suspicious amid ongoing NOC issues with PCB and the busy cricketing schedule ahead.
Green Caps are scheduled to play a number of White-Ball series in the upcoming months against teams like New Zealand, England, and West Indies, and BBL’s starting dates could coincide with any of these series, making it impossible for second string players to leave National Squad.
However, Shadab Khan could avail partial exemption from such as scenario as he already represented Sydney Sixers in the previous season and will rightfully receive retention in the platinum category in the upcoming draft.
According to News Sources, Shadab is among the 43 Pakistani Cricketers, registered in the BBL 12 Drafts. Among others are the veteran bowlers Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Amir, former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and Mohammad Hafeez, T20 specialist batters Asif Ali and Azam Kha, alongside upcoming young cricketers Zeeshan Zameer Musa Khan and Shahnawaz Dahani, who are elibigle for selection in BBL 12.
The other Pakistani players that have registered in BBL 12 Drafts are Usman Khalid, Shan Masood, Rumman Raees, Imad Waseem, Hussain Talent, Usman Shinwari, Usama Mir, Junaid Khan, Umar Akmal, and Kamran Akmal.
Pakistan’s top 3, Baber Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi, wouldn’t apply for the drafts due to the Busy Cricketing Schedule of the National Cricket Team. Meanwhile, many International Cricketers such as Faf du Plessis (England), Trent Boult (New Zealand), Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Kieron Pollard (West Indies), Andre Russell (West Indies), and Dwayne Bravo (West Indies), and Sam Billings (England), Liam Livingstone (England), Jason Roy (England), and David Willey(England), have also applied in the Platinum Category of BBL 12 Draft.
